Geek Girl- All that Glitters

GEEK GIRL has just been announced as the Number One biggest selling teen book in the UK last year.... yes it might make you want to look twice at this book again people! The GEEK GIRL series has been an internationally bestselling No1. smash-hit. It won the Waterstones Teen Prize of the Year and the Leeds book award, was shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize and the Branford Boase award, and was long-listed for the Carnegie.

Becky has read the others in the series and this is her review on this one..

I have been with Harriet from the start and I absolutely love the series, despite being double the intended age of reader. Harriet is her usual geeky, list loving, fact spouting, loveable self and i always find myself learning things when i read her stories. Despite the unfortunate way Nick and Harriet parted in the last book there were still plenty of flashbacks to satisfy my Nick fix.

Having missed the first few weeks of sixth form, Harriet is trying to fit back in to her school but without Nat and distinctly missing a stalker. We follow her on the highs and lows of trying to make friends, experience adventure in Morocco for some modelling and are with her through her times of admiring heartbreak.

As usual Holly Smale had me laughing out loud at Harriet's awkward moments, misinterpretation of situations and general all round clumsiness. I fell in love with her a little bit more as she continued to show one of her best traits, always seeing the best in people, and trying to navigate the strange world of sixth form alone.

I really need the next book now, as without trying to give too much away, i was left wanting so much more, despite the good ending to the book. Please tell me this will be out soon!!!!!
